RE: My Recent Absence

Hey Guys,

I was hoping to use this blog for dripping tales of sex filled adventures and for sharing some of my many interests/ponderings in life; however I find that my first official entry is going to be more of a long over due announcement surrounding my recent availability- or lack thereof...

First off, I just want to say I love that so many of you are trying to connect with me (through various means) and even calling over to the condo to see if I'm still working (asking why I've disappeared, if I'm OK, etc...); both your interest and your concern for my well being is very much appreciated <3

Rest assured- I am fine.  I'm in perfect health, and I'm missing you just as much as you're all missing me ;)

Today I'll be returning to work (from noon- 8pm), and my regular availability thereafter will be limited to Thursdays and Fridays until further notice.

Now as to what's been keeping me away from work these past few weeks- it's not only that I had been supporting my mother in her healing from surgery; but also that I have been the primary provider of my grandmother's care (which is both extensive and intense) following her most recent medical mishap and the complications therein...

Very few people are aware that my grandmother had broken her arm in early January, and while her arm has very thankfully healed the extended duration she had spent in hospital/bed has unfortunately effected her muscle mass and her ability to function- on so many levels. Once fully independent, and following her second fall, my grandma is now unable to function without a minimum of 1 person assistance (physically) and with constant supervision in order to ensure her safety (mentally) because at the ripe old age of 90 my darling grandmother (who is also legally blind) is showing a very steady increase within her previously mild state of dementia.

Our entire family was shocked when after we had placed her in a CCAC approved center for respite care (under the direction of CCAC and following their recommendations as to her level of care needed) my grandmother had another fall which sent her to hospital for an additional week at which time it had been established that my grandma was going to be in need of 24/7 support and monitoring for her safety.

Though it's taken some time our family has managed to arrange for nursing staff to attend grandma's needs on a nearly 24/7 basis wherein I pick up the slack several days a week (Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed) and where I will remain "on call" the rest of the time (24/7) should one of the hired PSWs not show up for a shift...

Of course I do this happily and wholeheartedly; but in the spirit of full disclosure (within my business) I believe it's only fair to let clients know that my availability is going to be greatly limited for a few weeks and there is a very real chance that I may have to cancel/reschedule engagements with little to no notice due to the current situation.

In a perfect world I wouldn't have to be writing this blog, I wouldn't be missing appointments, and my grandma would be in good health; but the reality is that this world is far from perfect, and sometimes all we can do is just make the best of it and do our best to make it a little bit better if we can.

Today I'll be returning to work (from noon- 8pm), and my regular availability will be limited to Thursdays and Fridays until further notice.

As always, I thank you for your patients and understanding.
~ P
